How Government Minds Work

One Senator in Washington, John Warner (who's name doesn't matter because he's just another piece of dead wood feeding at the public trough) has the idea of decreasing the National speed limit to conserve our consumption of oil, saving approximately 167 thousand barrels a day! Not a bad idea. This is fine, except for one thing, there is no shortage of gas, so it does nothing for price.
What he doesn't take into account, is the 20 billion dollars that it will cost the tax payers to replace all the speed limit signs across the country!
The one big question is, how does that help to reduce the cost of gas? How does that reduce the cost of everything that has gone up in price because of the high cost of gas?
The one prime duty of our Government is to protect the people. They have failed on all counts.
